The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) released the Strategies for Policing Innovation (SPI) 2020 Competitive Grant Solicitation! Catherine McNamee, BJA Senior Policy Advisor, presented a webinar on Tuesday, March 31 at 2PM ET to provide an overview of the SPI and review the 2020 solicitation guidelines. Ms. McNamee provided a detailed explanation of the application requirements and answered specific questions.
SPI is a BJA–sponsored initiative that supports law enforcement agencies in building evidence-based, data-driven law enforcement tactics and strategies that are effective, efficient, and economical. SPI represents a strategic approach that helps police agencies figure out what works in crime prevention and crime reduction initiatives. The SPI solicitation is a competitive award available to public law enforcement agencies that are seeking to develop and implement innovative policing approaches to address emerging or pressing issues in their communities.
